Note the maintenance status of permissions in roles and their impact
Background processing
In order to be able to execute subsequent SAP standard reports, you need authorizations to access certain programs or reports and in the area of role maintenance. The transactions "SA38" and "SE38" for executing programs are of particular importance. They enable a far-reaching system analysis by means of certain programs for the end user. Additional rights associated with this, which can go beyond the basic rights of administrators, have to be controlled by explicit values in a dedicated manner.

If the authorization objects also require permission fields, you can create them in the SU20 transaction. When creating a authorization object in the SU21 transaction, you first set a name and description for the authorization object, and then assign it to an object class. Then assign the necessary permission fields. If any of these fields are ACTVT, you can select all of the activities to be checked by clicking the Activities button. The navigation behaviour has been improved here a lot.

In addition to these requirements, other settings can ensure that the transaction can be performed without verification: Verification of eligibility objects is disabled by check marks (in transaction SU24). This is not possible for SAP NetWeaver and SAP ERP HCM authorization objects, i.e. it does not apply to S_TCODE checking. The checks for specific authorization objects can be globally off for all transactions (in transaction SU24 or SU25). This is only possible if the profile parameter AUTH/NO_CHECK_IN_SOME_CASES is Y. In addition, executable transactions may also result from the assignment of a reference user; the reference user's executable transactions are also taken into account.

The role concept provides that each user can only process the tasks to which he is authorized. It is developed across departments and must protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. A clear role concept enables a modular structure of authorizations without having to create separate roles for each user.

Authorizations can also be assigned via "Shortcut for SAP systems".

You can send a signed e-mail to the system you want to announce the certificate to.

The website www.sap-corner.de offers a lot of useful information about SAP authorizations.

Experience has shown that roles should remain application-specific and that a distinction between book or investing, changing and reading roles is also useful.
